MURRAY, Ky. -- Savoring the brilliant sunshine on Thanksgiving Day, Renee Joseph paused outside the dining hall at Camp Woodmen of the World to count his blessings.

The camp was home to Joseph, along with his father, sister and about 120 other Hurricane Katrina evacuees, for some six weeks after the storm ruined their New Orleans homes.
