On Jan. 19, my friend and neighbor came to my door in the midst of having a stroke. As I write this, she is about to move into assisted living at Surrey Place. I can not thank all those at Surrey Place enough for the loving care and financial patience they have given us.
I also want to thank Blake Medical Center for the excellent care that meant so much when we arrived at the emergency unit. The care they gave had a lot to do with my friend's recovery. To Dr. Ganey, Dr. Esparza - who believed, as I did, that my friend would recover - and Dr. Rajan for their care throughout this ordeal.
Our attorney is due a special tanks for guiding us through the valley of legal unknowns. I would highly recommend Donna Irvin Sobel, who is a specialist in elder law and cares deeply about the plight of the people who made this country great. Thanks to you, Donna, and your assistant, Anita, who were always there for me.
Back to Surrey Place, there is not enough space to thank all the special caregivers who work there but I must thank Skip, always there for us with a smile and a joke to ease the tension and to take care of the problem.
