First, Cindy Sheehan would have all the troops return home. Then Iraqis could fend for them... WHAT WOULD CINDY SHEEHAN DO RE N

Then Iraqis could fend for themselves. That would mean that the newly elected government would be slaughtered. The newly trained Iraqi security forces would be caught in nets and then fed to shredding machines.

Following that, the Palestinian Authority led by Hamas would trounce every Jew from Nazareth to Jerusalem, from Tel Aviv to the Jordan / Israeli border.

Of course, Ted Kennedy would be shining in the US Senate. Nancy Pelosi would be applauding from her front row seat. Hillary Clinton would be seated alongside Pelosi. And the rest of the US Democratic Party would be cheering across America as the ACLU and Barbra Streisand led it on a march toward the Pacific — for drowning.

As Tom Hays reports for the AP, "authorities stepped up security. . .after receiving what city officials called a credible threat that the New York subway could be the target of a terrorist attack in coming days."

Where is that harebrain when the world needs her? I knew where she was several days ago, that is, when hauled away because she refused to pay a $74 fine for staging a sit-in without permit. But after that, nix.

I know her ex-husband would not take her back after 28 years of enduring. Her son, Andy, pleaded with her to return to the California pad to mix porridge for breakfast. But Cindy would have none of that. So I really don't know where the gal is hanging out.

However, when New York needs her most, Sheehan goes in hiding. It's just not fair. No one could even locate her in the massive trek to the Pacific. Now that's not being fair, Cindy, and you know it. Wise up, lady.

The AP continues: "New York officials mobilized police officers to begin looking through commuters' bags, briefcases, baby strollers and luggage.

"Mayor Michael Bloomberg called it the most specific terrorist threat officials had received to date. No one in New York had been arrested or detained, he said during a nationally televised news conference alongside Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly."

He told them that if the free world was not vigilant in warding off the Islamic killers international, that their Koran-dictates would go unchecked. He received applause throughout. Obviously then there are some persons who actually believe that pulling back troops from Iraq would close in the liberty-based countries to a vice squeeze never felt before.

I thought it surreal that Mr. Bush would once again be taking the gamble to warn the globe of threats unlimited while New York Mayor and team were seeking ways to protect their citizenry. All the while, political liberals continued to hug Sheehan.

The last photo I recall of that gal was her hugging Jesse Jackson in a tight squeeze out under the blue skies and fleecy clouds. Jesse was all-aglow with a new-found cause for his ego preening. And Sheehan had found a large back to lean on.

In the meantime, Muslim murderers global were hiding out in sleeper cells, waiting the signal for overtaking American schools, churches, malls and town halls. But did Sheehan care? Not a twit. Instead, her opportunistic brain kept winding up for another media show. And of course the liberal-wound cameras were at the ready.

In the meantime, multinational troops were not only staving off Muslim suicide schemes in New Iraq but putting in sewer systems, handing out tablets and pencils to school children, paving roads, training the local police force and showing Iraqi young men how to fly airplanes.

There's Sheehan embracing Jackson while our militia is seeking to establish freedom in a country once gouged by Hussein while Mr. Bush addresses attentive listeners supporting his mission.

All the while, New Yorkers checked their life insurance policies before brushing their teeth for next morning's trek to the office in downtown.
