Editors Note: Here's the latest business story on RuralNorthwest.com. RNW's goal with this weekly challenge is to promote local businesses as well as encourage some lighthearted community interaction. We challenge you to figure out which business is described in the article and email your answers directly to the editor Kathy Nussberger . Each week, we will announce the name of the previous business with a picture and a list of those who guessed right (if anyone submits a correct answer).

Let me introduce myself. I was born and raised in Montana, have been in Bonner County for about 15 years now, and moved to Idaho from western Washington. It was a natural progression for me to relocate here because I had relatives living here and I used to come all the time and visit when I was a kid; so, for me Bonner County was already like home.

When I was younger, I used to hunt and fish, and all that kind of good stuff, but now that I live in the great outdoors I don't have time to do any of that. Though my wife, two children and I, hope some day to move out to the rural area, it serves its purpose for us to live in town for now.

My hobby is actually raising my kids. My favorite thing is when I make time for the family. I think that is important because often, as the provider, it seems I only come home to rest! It is important to plan for quality family time.

The Sandpoint area has grown dramatically since I have been here. Whether a person views that as good or bad, all depends on the bandwagon a person decides to get on. I can understand wanting to keep things the same, yet growth is an opportunity for many people.

I am an entrepreneur, on top of everything else. I have found that it is hard to find a balance in life sometimes, because you have to find your niche and that is not easy! It takes a lot of guts to go out there, knowing that you could fail. I think fear often holds people back from trying to fulfill their dreams. I have learned, for instance, that when I take a chance, I also must be mentally prepared to fail. I have also found that failure is not all that bad, because you can get back up and try it again, or choose to go in another direction.

After learning many life lessons, I now would encourage people, especially young adults, to develop a goal. You can always change your goal. My mistake, when I was young, was that I had no goal. Though I knew I did not want to work for someone else, I did not realize exactly what I did want to do. I suppose I was in my early 30's before I really started to have the guts to try different types of self-employment and businesses.

In addition, I have found that once I decided on a goal that worked for me, I had to be willing to sacrifice to reach that goal. I advise young adults to avoid the pitfalls of youth by saving money and not spending it on toys. If a person wants a professional career, then set that as your goal. You may have to find a way to get a scholarship to college, or take a job that is not exactly what you want, in order to earn money to reach your goal in the end. Sacrifice what you want now until you can see your goal coming true.

Now that I have accomplished my goal of being an entrepreneur, I recognize that there are pros and cons. For example, right now, I have no health insurance, but down the road, I hope to be able to afford it. The benefits of self-employment include setting your own schedule, taking days off when you want, and not needing approval from someone else to do it!
